TCE Baby15 May 2024154

When your baby turns one month old, it's time for their one-month checkup. Let's talk about what you need to know for your baby's first checkup after their birth.

When and Where to Have Checkup:

You should bring your baby for their checkup between 28 to 30 days after birth, but some mothers may choose to go at 42 days after birth, which is also fine. For the location, any hospital is OK for the checkup.

What Will Doctors Check For:

The doctor will check your baby's height, weight, and head circumference. They'll also check your baby's overall physical and motor development.

Other Things to Check For:

Skin: Check for jaundice, rashes, and bruises.

Head: Look for any abnormalities in the skull and scalp.

Neck: Ensure normal mobility.

Eyes: Check for eye health and movement.

Ears: Ensure normal ear shape and function.

Mouth: Look for any issues with the mouth.

Chest: Check for chest abnormalities and lung sounds.

Abdomen: Examine the belly for any abnormalities.

Anus: Check for normalcy.

Genitals: Check for normal development.

Limbs: Ensure normal limb function and symmetry.

Hip Joint: Check for normal hip joint function and symmetry.

After the examination, the doctor will give guidance on your baby's feeding, growth and development, disease prevention, accident prevention, oral health, etc. Listen carefully and record if necessary.
